Literature... At times as I'm reading a book, I get the urge to draw the characters as they're described in the book. Here are a few. I'm also including some artwork I did in high school assignments in this section.
The Bear
by William Faulkner
This was an assignment in my English class my junior year of high school.
Le Fantôme de l'Opéra (The Phantom of the Opera)
by Gaston Leroux
Macbeth
by William Shakespeare
I drew this when we were studying "Macbeth" in high school. The color drawing was part of an assignment to design a program as if we were performing the play. I think a little explanation is in order for this one...and I'm referring to the full version (click on the thumbnail). The King in the foreground is, obviously, Macbeth. Off to the left, you can see the three witches gathered around their cauldron. In the background is Dunsinane Forest, and on the right of the picture you can see a lake in the forest. The two stick figures next to it are Banquo and his son. A bit to the left and up slightly, you can see the assassins on their way to the lake.
Notre-Dame de Paris (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
by Victor Hugo
