Well Done, Carol!

I wrote this in memory of Carol Dunning, a wonderful woman from our church who died of cancer in July 2001.

There she lies
In a box
At last at peace
The pain is gone

There they cry
Before the box
The ones she left
To carry on

But why should we weep?
Why should we mourn?
She is at peace
Forevermore

There she sits
In the lap
In the loving arms
Of Jesus Christ

There she stands
Before the throne
Of the Great I AM
She sees His face

She wears a shining white gown
And a glittering crown
She takes the crown
And casts it down

Before the One who took the nails
So she could be there
And she falls down
Prostrate at His feet

The holy God
Gazes at her in love
He receives her worship
He says, "Well done!"

Well done, Carol!
You have raised your children well
You have loved your family well
The world is a better place because you were here.

A sinner saved by grace
A servant without a trace
Of the sin that once held you enslaved
Set free to serve the One who took your place

One day we値l see you again
We値l embrace
We値l see His face
We値l all take our crowns
And cast them down
And we値l fall down
At His feet

No more pain
No more sorrow
No more fear
No more grief
No more tears
No more box
No more death

Just peace
And love
And joy
And bliss
And life

We値l jump for joy
We値l dance and sing
We値l worship Him.
