Christine

May 1999

In memory of Christine Soetaert, my best friend's sister, who died in May 1999 at the age of 21

Gone!
A wonderful life has ended
A life too short has ended

She looked into the blurry face of her father
And closed her eyes.
She opened her eyes
And looked into the crystal-clear face of her heavenly Father.

She traded a wheelchair for a dazzling white robe,
A suffering body for a glittering crown.
She who once could not walk
Now leaps for joy!
She who once could not talk
Now sings God's praises all day long!

There she is now
In the loving arms of God.
There she is now
Without a trace of suffering.
There she is now
Singing with the angels,
Praising her Creator for all eternity!

There they are now
Grieving their horrible loss.
There they are now
Missing her winning smile
There they are now
Wishing they could hear her laugh,
Knowing that they never will...

Until that day when they see her,
Until that day when their suffering is washed away
And they are taken to the presence of the Almighty God.

We will see her again
Sitting in the lap of her loving Father,
Bowing down at His feet,
And with her we will sing His praises for all eternity!
Hallelujah!
